OUR MISSION FIELD

Our Associational Context: Stone, Taney, and Christian Counties
Our Tri-County Baptist association serves and ultimately is a family of 53 Southern Baptist Churches across Stone, Taney, and Christian Counties in southwest Missouri—an area rooted in the heritage, faith, and resilience of the Ozarks.

Stone County, established in 1851, reflects the heart of rural Ozarks life. With communities like Galena and areas surrounding Table Rock Lake, the county is marked by close-knit relationships, agricultural roots, and churches that have long been central to community life. While tourism has grown, local congregations continue to provide a steady gospel presence and compassionate ministry.

Taney County, founded in 1837, combines deep Ozark heritage with national influence through the city of Branson. Known worldwide for family-friendly entertainment, Taney County also has a long history of faithful Baptist churches serving both permanent residents and a constantly changing population of visitors and seasonal workers. This creates unique opportunities for evangelism, discipleship, and missions.

Christian County, organized in 1859, is one of the fastest-growing areas in the region. Communities such as Ozark and Nixa reflect a blend of small-town values and expanding suburban life. As growth brings new people and challenges, Baptist churches in Christian County are strategically positioned to engage emerging neighborhoods while maintaining strong biblical foundations.

One Mission, Three Counties
Together, our association exists to encourage, equip, and promote cooperative Kingdom work among our churches and to help resource those churches in their divinely appointed task of fulfilling the Great Commission. Though each county differs in size, pace, and culture, all three represent our shared mission field—our Jerusalem—where we cooperate for gospel impact, church health, and kingdom advance.
